4/7/2014   Fall priority registration begins
7/25/2014   Priority deadline for Fall certification requests 
7/30/2014   All COMPLETE Fall priority certification requests submitted to the VA
8/25/2014   Fall classes begin
9/5/2014   Fall Add/Drop deadline
9/15/2014   Deadline for LATE Fall certification requests (to avoid late fee assessment)
9/12/2014   All COMPLETE late Fall requests submitted to the VA
9/15/2014   Fall late fees assessed on overdue student accounts
11/14/2014   Fall withdraw deadline
12/13/2014   Fall semester ends
10/27/2014   Spring schedule open for viewing
11/10/2014   Spring priority registration begins
12/12/2014   Priority deadline for Spring certification requests 
12/30/2014   All COMPLETE priority Spring certification requests submitted to the VA
1/12/2015   Spring classes begin
1/23/2015   Spring Add/Drop deadline
2/2/2015   Deadline for LATE Spring certification requests (to avoid late fee assessment)
1/28/2015   All COMPLETE late Spring requests submitted to the VA
2/2/2015   Spring late fees assessed on overdue student accounts
4/3/2015   Spring withdraw deadline
5/4/2015   Spring semester ends

NEW STUDENTS:

The following steps must be completed the first semester you begin using your VA education benefits at Kodiak College:

  1. Apply for your benefits through the VA (VONAPP) and confirm your eligibility.
  2. Apply for admission to a Kodiak College degree or certificate program.
  3. Meet with your program advisor to ensure course applicability to your program and have your semester course selections documented by your advisor in a DegreeWorks plan. NO DEGREE PLAN, NO BENEFITS.
  4. Register for classes on UAOnline.
  5. Submit your Request for Certification.

CONTINUING STUDENTS:

The following steps must be completed each semester that you wish to use your VA education benefits:

  1. Meet with your program advisor to ensure course applicability to your program and have your semester course selections documented by your advisor in a DegreeWorks plan. NO DEGREE PLAN, NO BENEFITS.
  2. Register for classes on UAOnline.
  3. Submit your Request for Certification. 

Request for Certification

Submit this form after you have met with your advisor, registered for classes and created a plan in DegreeWorks that includes your selected courses.  This form must be submitted every semester that you wish to have your classes certified with the VA. 

Report of Change

Submit this form if you change your major or make a change to your registration after you have submited your initial Request for Certification. Course changes must be reflected in your DegreeWorks plan (you must first see your advisor to update your plan).

Request for Evaluation of Military Training (UAA) - Please discuss this form with your degree program advisor prior to submitting for evaluation.

VA Form 22-1995 - Change of Program or Place - Must be completed and submitted to SCO if you change schools, degree program and/or major.

VA Form 22-1990 - Request for Tutorial Assistance - To request funds through the VA to pay for tutoring.
