UAOnline is the portal to each student’s account with the University. Students use UAOnline to apply for admission, register for classes, manage their financial aid and tuition payments, and check their grades at the end of the semester.
Students are assigned a University email account at the time of registration and all future communication with the student will be sent to that account. Students are able to forward their University email to a personal account, if they wish.
Blackboard is an online course management system. Professors use this space to post course syllabi, grades, faculty evaluations and other course documents and information. Log in to Blackboard and check this account on a regular basis during the semester. Instructions on how to use Blackboard features are available.
Students who are having difficulty accessing their student accounts in UAOnline, Blackboard, or student email should go to the Me Site to manage their identity, activate their account/reset their password, or find their UA username and student ID number. If further assistance is needed, call the UAA IT Call Center at 1-877-633-3888 for assistance.
The deadlines set in the academic calendar are attached to tuition refunds and the ability to drop a course, if needed. The link to academic dates and deadlines for students is located on the Kodiak College website.
Students review their program requirements and progress toward their degree in Degree Works, which is accessed through UAOnline. Log into secured area, click on the Student Services & Account Information menu, click on Degree Works, and click on UAA Degree Works. Students can work with academic advisors to create a degree plan that will map out the courses they will need to reach their academic goal.
The current class schedule is available in UAOnline. As you are planning your semester and reviewing the courses that are offered, click on the 5-digit Course Reference Number (CRN) to view the prerequisites and other course details, including the course description.

Student Services houses all functions related to admission, registration, and financial aid. Academic advising and planning are also available.

Students purchase books for face-to-face courses the campus Bookstore. A printed copy of your class schedule is required. Books for e-Learning courses are ordered online through course’s home campus bookstore. Order books for Kodiak College e-Learning courses at the Bookstore webpage. Order books from other campuses by referring to the list of all the bookstores for the University of Alaska campuses.

Tutors are available to assist students with English writing and reading, English as a Second Language (ESL), science, and math skills and assignments. They can also help students identify learning styles, develop study strategies, manage timelines, and organize projects. Tutoring is free for Kodiak College students.

The Kodiak College Test Center provides a wide range of assessment services in a low-stress, friendly environment. Proctored Blackboard tests, makeup tests and special accommodations are available for eligible students. Appointments are required.
Campus Center 102, 486-1228
The Computer Lab is open to students, staff, faculty and community members. Lab aides are available to assist with course registration, Blackboard, student email, and computer software (Microsoft Office and Adobe products). Printers are also available to student use.

The Carolyn Floyd Library provides a friendly and beautiful study space featuring the new Kodiak Room. Students also have access to a wide variety of online resources, including professional journals.
