Distance courses are not as easy as most students believe!
Take the SmarterMeasure learning readiness indicator assessment to find your strengths and weaknesses for being successful in eLearning courses. Your advisor, counselor, or eLearning instructor can help you understand the results and show you how to improve any weaknesses. The Kodiak College faculty and staff all want you to stay in your class and do well—the results from this assessment will help us to help you!
(Note: If you have already completed this assessment, just bring your results to your advisor, counselor, or tutor.)
The following video will explain how to take the SmarterMeasure assessment.
This assessment consists of seven sections and is available via the Internet.
If you’re not sure what to do, click on the “Questions about how to login?” bar/button to watch a short video clip.
First time users, click the “Login as First Time User” button.
Returning users, click the “Login as Returning User” button.
There are SEVEN skills sections:
1. Life Factors
2. Personal Attributes
3. Learning Styles
4. Reading Skills
5. Technical Knowledge
6. Technical Competency
7. Typing Skills
In the First Time User Login box, enter the username (dropdown menu)
(Use the drop-down menu)
Click the Login button.
On the next screen, type in your personal information and answer the demographic questions. You will be taken to the first section of the test when you click the “Continue” button.
You will be emailed a PIN as soon as you start the assessment. If you cannot complete all sections at one time, you may return to your assessment using the Returning Users login area with your email address and the PIN that was sent to you.
