Course Schedule

The course schedule is published in the local newspaper in late April for the fall semester and in November for the spring semester. An electronic version is also posted to the Kodiak College website and paper copies are available on campus.
This publication lists all the classes offered at the Kodiak College campus for the upcoming semester. This information is also available online at UAOnline.

Updates to the course schedule, including additions, cancellations, and changes are posted in a Quick Schedule on the Kodiak College website at www.koc.alaska.edu/qschedule.pdf.

How to Choose Classes?

If you need help deciding which classes to take, academic advising is available; please make an appointment by calling (907) 486-1211. An academic advisor will help you to determine what courses you should take depending on your placement test scores or previous education and the requirements of your academic program. Your advisor can assist you in creating a degree plan which will illustrate how you will complete your certificate or degree, and the sequence in which you need to take classes.

Walk-in student advising is available during on-campus registration the week before classes start each semester.

Registering for Classes Online

All students are highly encouraged to register via the web using UAOnline. If you have never used this system before, go to the Kodiak College homepage at www.kodiak.alaska.edu and click on the UAOnline link in the upper left corner of your screen.

Click on “Login to Secured Area” and enter your 8-digit student ID number into the User ID field. If you don’t know your student ID number, click on “look up your ID here” and enter the information requested.

Your default PIN is your birth date in a six digit format (mmddyy). If you have never logged on to UAOnline before, enter your default PIN and you will be prompted to create a new PIN for your account. The PIN must be exactly six characters.

Set up a security question for yourself so that you may unlock your account if you forget your password. The answer to your security question should be something you will not forget and something that will not change. It is not related to your password in any way. Good security questions are “mother’s maiden name” or “city where I was born”. The answer to your question is case-sensitive.

Once you have logged in to your UAOnline account, you may register for classes.

After you have selected your courses, click on “Complete Your Registration”. If you see a summary of charges due, you have completed your registration. Payment of tuition and fees is due at the time of registration. Students can pay by credit card online or in person at the Kodiak College Business Office.

Print your course schedule. You will need to present your schedule at the Kodiak College Bookstore to purchase your textbooks.

Other Methods of Registration

Walk-in registrations are accepted at Student Services, in room 119 Campus Center starting at noon on the Monday prior to the first day of the semester.

Academic advising is available during walk-in registration.

Student Class Schedule

After you register for classes on campus, you will receive a print out of the classes for which you’ve registered, as well as the times, dates, instructors, etc.

Please check your class schedule over very carefully to make sure you are enrolled in all the classes you believe you have registered for.

You will need to bring your printed schedule to the Kodiak College Bookstore to purchase your textbooks.

Room assignments will be posted during the first week of classes in the Benny Benson Building Lobby and the Campus Center Lobby. Plan to arrive a few minutes early for the first day of class so you can look up where your class will meet.

Payment of Tuition and Fees

Payment is due at the time of registration. If your tuition and fees are being paid by a third party, you must make sure that the Business Office is aware of your funding source and that the correct paperwork has been filed.

EZ Payment plans are available. Please see the Business Office Manager to discuss this option which spreads your tuition costs out over three payments.

Drop/Add Dates and Refund Policy

IMPORTANT: You will not be dropped from a class for not attending. If you register for a class and decide not to attend, you must drop the class. If you forget to drop the class, you will be liable for the tuition.

Students can drop semester-length courses during the first two weeks of the semester and receive a full tuition refund. There is no refund after the drop period has ended.

Refunds for the tuition of short courses are pro-rated; please see the Student Services staff prior to dropping the class to find out if you are eligible for a tuition refund. The Business Office staff can tell you how long the refund process will take and the amount you will be refunded.
