Learning Center

The Learning Center offers a variety of college preparatory services to students who want to strengthen reading, writing, and math skills needed for success in college classes. Tutoring is available to help students prepare for college classes and advance to the next level of competency.

The Learning Center provides a self-paced learning environment where students may strengthen vocabulary and reading comprehension skills, enhance writing skills for effective communication, develop and reinforce grammar and sentence skills, improve proficiency in spelling and punctuation and build a strong foundation in basic mathematics. Small study group work areas provide a pleasant place to work and learn. The Learning Center is located in the Campus Center, Room 205 and foyer.

Kodiak College students, staff, and faculty are eligible to use the computing facilities and resources on campus.

Students who have registered and paid for classes may establish a personal student e-mail account by accessing the Kodiak College web site at www.koc.alaska.edu and clicking on "Student E-mail." It takes 24 hours after registering for an account to be generated.

Computers, scanners, and printers with internet access are available in the campus library for class assignments and research.

Students may use computers in the Learning Center and Computer Information and Office Systems (CIOS) Lab to complete assignments and receive assistance with proper formatting of research papers, letters, etc.
