Thank you for you and your loved ones service and sacrifice, and for choosing Kodiak College to pursue your education.  

ATTENTION VA STUDENTS

Request for Certification forms are now submitted online - the old paper forms have been retired - see below for further information or call 907-486-1214907-486-1214.

IMPORTANT NOTE:  Kodiak College cannot guarantee availability of full term face-to-face delivered courses for Summer semesters.  Please plan ahead for how this may affect your housing allowance.

NEW STUDENTS:

The following steps must be completed the first semester you begin using your VA education benefits at Kodiak College:

  1. Apply for your benefits through the VA (VONAPP) and confirm your eligibility.
  2. Apply for admission to a Kodiak College degree or certificate program.
  3. Meet with your program advisor to ensure course applicability to your program and have your semester course selections documented by your advisor in a DegreeWorks plan.
  4. Register for classes on UAOnline.
  5. Submit your Request for Certification.

CONTINUING STUDENTS:

The following steps must be completed each semester that you wish to use your VA education benefits:

  1. Meet with your program advisor to ensure course applicability to your program and have your semester course selections documented by your advisor in a DegreeWorks plan.
  2. Register for classes on UAOnline.
  3. Submit your Request for Certification. 

Online Request for Certification

Submit this form after you have met with your advisor, registered for classes and created a plan in DegreeWorks that includes your selected courses.  This form must be submitted every semester that you wish to have your classes certified with the VA. 

Online Report of Registration Change

Submit this form if you make a change to your registration after you have submited your Request for Certification. Changes that involve adding coursework must be reflected in your DegreeWorks plan (see your advisor to update your plan).

Request for Evaluation of Military Training - Please discuss this form with your degree program advisor prior to submitting for evaluation.

VA Form 22-1995 - Change of Program or Place - Must be completed and submitted to SCO if you change schools, degree program and/or major.

VA Form 22-1990 - Request for Tutorial Assistance - To request funds through the VA to pay for tutoring.

Vet Center
If you are a combat Veteran or experienced any sexual trauma during your military service, bring your DD214 to your local Vet Center and speak with a counselor or therapist—many of whom are Veterans themselves—for free, without an appointment, and regardless of your enrollment status with VA.
