Standing Kodiak College Committees

Community Engagment: The mission of this committee is to promote lifelong learning by bringing free educational and cultural opportunities to the Kodiak Community.

Placement Team: The Placement Team at Kodiak College is a committee of staff and faculty who discuss testing, advising, placement, and student success at Kodiak College. Representatives from Adult Basic Education, College Preparatory and Developmental Studies, eLearning Services, the English Department, Learning Center, Math Department, Student Services, and the Test Center are regular members of the Placement Team. The Placement Team serves in an advisory role for the Director’s Office and Instructional Council.

 

Professional Development: Professional development opportunities are provided by Kodiak College and UAA which advance the mission of the institution and address faculty and staff needs in terms of teaching, skills training, scholarly activities, and service. In the spirit of life-long learning, this committee strives to present sessions to improve knowledge and skills, develop professional networks to enhance practice, stay current in educational trends and technology, and form professional relationships.

Safety: The Kodiak College Campus Safety Committee meets periodically throughout the academic year, and - when necessary - makes recommendations for improving the campus safety.

Technology: Meets once per month to discuss issues and develop ideas for policies related to campus information technology. Topics that are often discussed include: e-mail, printers, and computer rotation.
